I've been painting my Blue Dancer Series since 1999. This series is part of my past, present and future. The Blue Horses Dancing across the Montana landscape are part of my essence. They speak to me and I to them. We claim each other. I have also completed the next three Blue Dancers and have six more planned for this year.

I'm now based in Bozeman, Montana and I'm looking forward to meeting the wonderful artists from the Bozeman Community so that we can work together in the Daily Painters of Montana.

I've recently been a tad uncomfortable with the fact that painters from different states are claiming they are "Painters from Montana". It seems if you've driven through Montana you can claim the state as your own. Well, there are actually only about 6.8 people per square mile in Montana and if all the artists who are claiming to be from Montana actually lived here we could really increase our population. The whole state of Montana hasn't reached a million yet but if we added all the artists claiming to live here, we could reach the million mark.

To claim to be an artist from Montana - you actually need to LIVE here. I do live in Montana. I am a working artist from Montana. The land, the animals and people all inspire me to paint.
